In Gorodenka, the UOC Church burned down, in which the authorities prevented the community from praying

On August 17, 2023, at 4:30 am in the city of Horodenka, the temple in honor of the Prophet of God Elijah of the UOC began to burn, according to the telegram channel “Head Office of the Sovereign Service of Supervision of Situations of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region”.

When the Gorodenko rescuers arrived at the place of the call, as well as the next shift of the operational-coordination center of the State Emergency Service in the region, the temple with a total area of 112 m² was completely on fire.

The fire was extinguished at 5:30 am. By this time, the temple was almost completely burned down. There are no injuries or casualties.

Two days before the fire, reports began to appear in the local media, clearly threatening in the direction of the church and the diocesan administration of the UOC.

Also, one of the local publications hinted at the causes of the fire: “After the scandal with the reopening of the Moscow church in Gorodenka, it burned down.” “A hot finale,” the publication’s employees commented on the fire.
