In Neteshyn, OCU activists seized another temple of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

July 27, 2023 supporters of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the support of the police seized the church in the name of St. Paraskeva of the town of Neteshyn. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

As reported by the Orthodox believers of the city of Neteshyn, their illegal actions supporters of the OCU began after the evening service on the eve of the memorial day of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir.

“After the all-night vigil, most of the parishioners, unsuspecting, have already gone home. I and a few other people stayed in the temple. And then suddenly appeared activists,” – said the rector of the Paraskevinsky temple Archpriest Roman Tyshkun.

In the course of raiding actions about 50 strong men pushed the Orthodox believers out of their temple. Such actions were supported by the police, who arrived on the scene.

“On the eve of the seizure, the supporters of the OCU carried out an illegal re-registration of the religious community of the Paraskevin church. The basis for this was the decision of the meeting of the territorial community, which was held back on April 9. As noted by the Orthodox believers, at this meeting the same people, who have no relation to the religious communities of the UOC, voted for the transfer under the jurisdiction of the OCU both Paraskevinsky church and the cathedral in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Neopalimaya Kupina”, which was seized on July 9″, – stated in the message.

After the seizure of the Orthodox church, the city mayor of Neteshyn, A. Suprunyuk, who, according to local residents, actively opposes the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and is engaged in inciting interreligious hatred, reported on the success of the raid on his Facebook page.
