People’s Deputy, General of the SSU: The bill to ban the UOC was removed from the agenda due to lack of votes

Anatoly Burmich, MP from the Restoration of Ukraine faction, SSU general, said that bill No. 8371 on the ban on the UOC was removed from the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada session due to the lack of votes for its adoption. This was reported by the Telegram channel “First Cossack”.

The deputy noted that such a decision was made due to the lack of full support for the bill on the part of people’s deputies from the Servant of the People faction.

“Today, some forces wanted to put a law on the prohibition of the UOC. I think that there are not enough votes in the Rada, because many even from the pro-government faction are not going to support this bill,” he said.

Anatoly Burmich also stressed that “freedom of conscience and human rights in Ukraine are guaranteed by the Constitution, which separates religion from the state.”
