The Italian authorities have said they are ready to join in the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa, which was partially destroyed as a result of the Russian attack on the city. A corresponding statement appeared on the website of the Council of Ministers of Italy on July 23, 2023, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

The press service noted that “the terrorist attacks in Odessa, the death of innocent people, the destruction of the Transfiguration Cathedral deeply hurt us.”

“Italy, with its unique experience in the world in the restoration industry, is ready to join the restoration of the Odessa Cathedral and other treasures of the cultural heritage of Ukraine,” the Italian Council of Ministers added.
