In the morning of July 11, 2023 armed with automatic rifles police blocked the territory of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. This is reported by social networks.

From the scene inform that people are threatened to smash phones. Law enforcers do not allow either monks or believers to enter the territory of the monastery.

On the website of the monastery appeared an appeal on behalf of the brethren:

“Brothers and sisters! Asking your holy prayers for peace in Ukraine, we also ask you to offer prayers for us, the brethren of the Lavra and its parishioners, that the Lord strengthen our spiritual strength in this terrible time. And who has the opportunity – call on those in power to put an end to the illegal eviction of monks from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra,” the appeal reads.

Social networks also report that 54 and 58 buildings of the Lavra have already been sealed.
