The Kiev-Pechersk and Pochaev Lavras, which are now under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, “will join the single Orthodox Church of Ukraine.” Epifaniy Dumenko stated this during a conversation with journalists, Ukrinform reports.
“We already have a recognized Ukrainian Orthodox Church. According to sociological surveys, we know that only 4% of the population of Ukraine support the Russian Orthodox Church. This process of transition to a single Orthodox Church of Ukraine is irreversible. We need to be patient a little,” said Epifaniy.
According to him, the Kiev-Pechersk, Pochaev Lavra and other Orthodox churches will join the “single Orthodox Church of Ukraine.”
“Ukrainians will all together glorify God in their native language in a single church, serve the interests of the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian state,” the “Metropolitan” stressed.
