The Belarusian Orthodox Church is ready to receive the monks of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

The Belarusian Orthodox Church is ready to settle in its monasteries the monks of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in case of their forced eviction by the Ukrainian authorities. This is stated in the appeal of the Synod of the BOC of July 4, 2023, reports the official website of the Belarusian Church.

“We oppose the expulsion of the brethren of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra from the monastery, where for decades they have been moving in worship and prayer for the benefit of the Ukrainian people,” the appeal said.

The Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church also testified that “in the case of the forced expulsion of monks from the Kyiv Cave Monastery, they can find a place for further monastic exploits in the monastic cloisters of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
