On June 4, 2023, in the city of Bridgeport (USA), the former cleric of the UOC-KP, and now the OCU, Viktor Polyarny, “consecrated” the restored church in honor of the Holy Trinity. This was reported by the Telegram channel “For the Ukrainian Church”.

It is reported that the “consecration” took place “arbitrarily and without the blessing of the ruling bishop.”

It is known that on February 2, 2021, Filaret Denisenko dismissed Viktor Polyarny from the post of Secretary of the Vicariate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate in the USA and Canada.

The UOC-KP noted that, having left their jurisdiction, “Viktor Polyarny did not receive and, in principle, could not receive any decree from Metropolitan Epifaniy (Dumenko), due to the Tomos prohibition to engage in diaspora for him.”
