Due to the explosion of a dam in the Kherson diocese of the UOC, several churches were damaged

Due to the undermining of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, about 80 settlements remain flooded. Among the affected objects there are also churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Kherson diocese said that now it is known about seven affected shrines, the Information and Education Department of the UOC reports.

The Information and Education Department of the UOC also published a list of flooded temples:

Temple in honor of the Kasperovskaya Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of the city of Kherson;
St. George’s Church on the embankment of the Dnieper in the city of Kherson;
Nicholas Church in the village of Sadovoe, Belozersky District;
Temple in the name of St. Equal-to-the-Apostles Nina of the city of Oleshki;
Temple in honor of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Burning Bush” in the village of Pravye Sagi, Oleshkovsky district;
Temple in honor of the Korsun Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Peschanovka, Aleshkovsky District;
St. Andrew’s Church in the village of Kardashinka.
