In Pereyaslav, the OCU chaplain did not let believers into the temple for their patronal feast

On June 3 and 4, 2023, on Trinity Saturday and the day of Pentecost, more than a hundred parishioners of the Trinity community of Pereyaslav were forced to pray in a private priest’s house, the UOJ reports.

Earlier it was reported that in Pereyaslav, raiders cut down locks from two churches of the UOC.

Representatives of the OCU hung their locks on their temple and put people with machine guns to “guard” it. The process is led by the OCU chaplain from Transcarpathia named Witcher, aka “hieromonk” Sofroniy, aka Anatoly Bortnichuk. Dumenko put him in charge of this area.

People in uniform hung locks with chains even on the gates of the temple, so the elderly parishioners had to climb over the fence to get to the service.

The believers removed the gate leaf from its hinges and entered the territory to hold services in the rector’s house. But the temple itself remained closed. The Witcher of the OCU warned the parishioners: “If you break my locks on my temple, you will get 5 years in prison.”
