On the website of the press service of the Khmelnytsky diocese of the UOC, a message appeared that on June 2, 2023, in the village of Medzhybizh, Khmelnytsky district, supporters of the OCU, led by local businessman Mikhail Blonsky and deputy of the Khmelnytsky district council Alexander Chernievich, gathered with the aim of raider seizure of the St. Nicholas Church. Without permission, they cut the locks for the temple and put their own locks in their place.

It is reported that personal belongings of the parishioners of the St. Nicholas Church remained in the church, but now they have no access to them.

At the end of March 2023, the Religious community of the St. Nicholas Church of the village of Medzhybizh of the Khmelnytsky diocese of the UOC held a General Parish Meeting (General Meeting of Believing Citizens), at which it decided to remain in the canonical subordination and structure of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the leadership of the Metropolitan of Ukraine. This decision is recorded in the minutes of the General parish meeting.

The website of the diocese notes that since the interference of the territorial community in the activities of religious organizations directly contradicts Articles 11, 35, 140 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the rector and members of the Religious Community of St. Nicholas Church of the UOC will apply to the National Police to protect their rights, stop arbitrariness, restore and ensuring the rule of law.
