Four UOC believers face imprisonment, – Kiev prosecutor’s office

According to the DOZOR on Perviy Kazatsky, four persons who tried to get into the illegally occupied building of the Lavra are charged with Part 3 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – Hooliganism. The most dangerous criminals face from 2 to 5 years in prison. They were detained for damaging the shutter, which the monastery installed at its own expense.

“According to the materials of the investigation, on April 19, 2023, a group of people, acting in concert with each other, tried to get into one of the buildings of the National Reserve “Kiev-Pechersk Lavra”. Investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the criminal offense. The sanction of the article provides for from 2 to 5 years in prison, ”says the website of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
