The Diocesan Council of the Archdiocese of Western European Parishes of the Russian Tradition has published a communiqué on the situation around the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
“Deeply shocked by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict lasting more than a year, the Diocesan Council of the Archdiocese of the Orthodox Churches of Russian Tradition in Western Europe would like to assure the monastic community and the Theological Academy of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of their support and prayers during this difficult time that they must go through,” – the publication says.
The communiqué also notes that “trusting in God’s mercy, in the intercession of Saints Anthony and Theodosius of the Kiev Caves, and in the evangelical, spiritual and pastoral benevolence of Metropolitan Onufry, let us appropriate these words of the Lord on the eve of His sufferings, towards which we are advancing: “Let there be all one, that the world may believe” (John XVII-21).
