On March 2, 2023, the deputies of the Kyiv City Council adopted a number of decisions regarding the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported in the press service of the City Council of the capital.
In particular, 65 deputies condemned the activities of the UOC. Also, the UOC was forbidden to hold any events outside the temples, and the relevant departments were instructed to check communal property and land used by religious organizations.
“The activities of the UOC-MP create the prerequisites for hostility and intolerance towards other faiths and confessions, promote the dissemination of false information, promote the ideas of the “Russian world” and do not recognize the unequivocal fact of the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine,” Vadym Vasilchuk, a member of the Holos faction, said.
