Yevstratiy Zorya: Since the election of Metropolitan Onuphry, the UOC has not shown any desire to engage in dialogue

On October 29, OCU speaker Evstratiy Zorya stated that since the election of Metropolitan Onuphry, the UOC “has not shown any desire to engage in dialogue. It was systematically, consciously and consistently terminated on their part precisely after the repose of Metropolitan Vladimir.” The “archbishop” wrote about this on his Facebook page.

He stressed that the UOC “constantly tries to conduct separate negotiations with individual personalities of the OCU, on whom hopes were placed to destroy unity from within.”

Zorya noted that he is a participant in “practically all dialogue meetings that have taken place in or about Ukrainian Orthodoxy over the past 15 years.”

In the publication, the “hierarch” of the OCU also complained that the UOC put forward and officially fixed in the documents “unacceptable demands for starting negotiations”; completely ignored proposals to “start negotiations without any preconditions”; spread “disinformation rumors in its own environment regarding an alternative plan of action” and regarding the receipt of autocephaly from the ROC, which is recognized by more Churches than the OCU, you just have to wait.”
