The head of the OCU, Epiphanius Dumenko, sent a letter to the Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw, in which he complained that a significant part of the clergy of the Polish Church not only did not want to concelebrate with the clergy of the OCU, but also denied them Communion as non-Christians. The letter was published by the OCU website.
Epiphanius complains that “until now, we have not received any response from the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church to the Letters of Peace sent by us, nor proposals for dialogue in order to clarify all the questions that have arisen and continue to arise.”
He writes that “with pain he receives testimonies of numerous examples of how the hierarchs and clergy of the PAOC not only refuse to co-serve with the priests of the OCU, but even refuse them communion, treating them as non-Christians.”
According to him, this is why his clerics are in contact with Polish Catholics, who “provides them with premises for worship and church activities.”
