On July 24, 2022, the head of the UOC-KP vicariate in the USA and Canada, Luka Zgoba, visited the parish headed by the cleric of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” Bernard Chojnacki at the Church of St. Church).
This was reported on Luka Zgoba’s Facebook page.
“Traditionally, this Florida parish is visited by Orthodox Ukrainian Lemkos, Poles, Slovaks, Ukrainians of different waves of immigration… Diaspora people realize that only a patriarchal structure will preserve foreign parishes and national identity, as well as direct communication with the Orthodox center in Kyiv. And even here in the USA, Moscow’s agents and collaborators tried to liquidate the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, deceiving about belonging to the OCU! But the Kyiv Patriarchate operates in the United States and develops, and collaborators in cassocks will soon be forced to leave the patriarchal parishes which have holy antimensions signed by His Holiness Patriarch Filaret. The time will come when people realize that they have been misled for three years now,” the message says.
Immigrants who have lived in Miami for about 50 years arrived at the church this Sunday; attended by Ukrainian immigrants who visit Ukrainian parishes in Florida. “They all came to receive the blessing of Bishop Luke, whom they knew before as their priest. It was agreed that now every Sunday after the morning service in Polish, Orthodox Ukrainians will pray in Ukrainian together with Father Professor Bernard,” the press center of the UOC-KP vicariate in the USA and Canada reports.
Earlier it was reported that Luka Zgoba met with the hierarch of the Polish People’s Catholic Church in the United States.
