On June 26, in the village of Belogorodka, Kyiv region, at the initiative of supporters of the OCU, a meeting of the villagers was held at the stadium, where they made an illegal attempt to change the religious affiliation of the community of the local St. UOCб while actual parishioners were praying near their church, according to the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Believers of the UOC did not participate in the meeting of the territorial community of Belogorodka, at which the issue of belonging to the religious community of the UOC was illegally put to a vote. Only the rector of the temple Father Vyacheslav Lazorik spoke before the villagers. The priest explained to the citizens the meaninglessness of the accusations against the UOC, with which the supporters of the OCU motivated the need for a “transition”.

Olena Bogdan, head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, also spoke at the meeting. The civil servant warned citizens against violating the law.

On this Sunday, the believers of the UOC, as always, prayed in the morning in their church for the Divine Liturgy, and then continued to pray in the churchyard. Bishop Sylvester of Belogorodsk came to support the believers.
