A former cleric of the Krivoy Rog diocese banned from serving illegally transferred two churches of the UOC to the OCU

The UOC churches in honor of St. John the Merciful in the village of Kamennoe Pole and the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Zelenoe Pole in the Krivoy Rog region were illegally transferred to the OCU, according to the Kryvyi Rih diocese.

On June 19, 2022, the former cleric of the Kryvyi Rih diocese, Maxim Krylach, who was banned from serving, came to these parishes with representatives of local authorities and organized their “transfer” to the OCU.

“The actions of M.S. Krylacha are a gross violation of the current legislation, since the discussion, voting and decision-making were carried out exclusively by residents of settlements that are not members of religious communities,” the diocese noted.

The parishioners and priests of churches in the villages of Kamennoe Pole and Zelenoe Pole were not notified of the meeting and were not able to take part in it.
