On June 19, 2022, the head of the UOC-KP deanery in Europe Volodymyr Chaika participated in the interfaith Liturgy of the meeting of the Council of Churches in Leverkusen. He addressed the audience with a speech, recalling that the war in Ukraine continues and the number of its victims is growing daily, according to the Facebook page of the European Deanery of the Kyiv Patriarchate.
“We are very grateful for the solidarity of Germany and Europe with Ukraine, for accepting all Ukrainians who were forced to leave their country, women and children, for humanitarian support directly in the country with the supply of aid. Unfortunately, aid is becoming less and less, and the need is growing. Therefore, I urge everyone not to stop, not to get tired, but to continue to defend a free Ukraine and European values,” Volodymyr Chaika emphasized.
Also on this day, at the initiative of the Union of Europe of the Council of Religions, a prayer for peace was held in Leverkusen by representatives of various faiths, including the structure of Filaret Denisenko in the EU.
