In Volhyn, a UOC cleric banned for schism repented and was restored to his rank

Archpriest Volodymyr Litvenchuk, rector of the Holy Annunciation Church in Lutsk, who was banned from priestly service in May 2022 for avoiding schism, has repented. He was restored to the UOC in the status of rector of the stavropegic parish of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv, and not as part of the Volyn diocese. This was reported by our sources.

On May 16, 2022, Archpriest Volodymyr Litvenchuk, rector of the Holy Annunciation Church in Lutsk, was banned from the priesthood by the decree of the head of the Volyn and Lutsk diocese, Archbishop Nathanael (Krikoty), for evading schism, gross violation of the oath of a clergyman.
