In the village of Myshev in Volyn region, supporters of the OCU are preventing the UOC community from building a new church. Earlier, in 2019, representatives of the OCU seized the local St. Nicholas Church, after which the UOC community was forced to perform Divine Services in an adapted room. Now, when the local adherents of the OCU learned that the UOC community is going to build a new temple, they blocked the construction area. This is reported by the regional edition “Bug”.

“About the construction of the Moscow church was reported by the warrior of the 14th brigade, former head of Ivanichevsky district Council, and now a deputy of the Vladimir district Council Victor Wilentko on his page in Facebook. And also confirmed by local resident Volodymyr Matviyuk in a comment under this message. Volodymyr said that on March 26, residents of Myshev chased away tractors from the house where the services of the UOC-MP are held. After all, the majority of villagers, they say, are against this construction and will not even let it begin,” – stated in the message.

In addition, the activists of the OCU began to threaten the head of the territorial community Lidia Tomashevska. They claim that if the UOC community will continue to try to build a temple for their own needs, the OCU activists will come “to visit” Tomashevskaya.

“The residents of Myshev are raring to go to the head. There is already a crime ready there. There are no architectural and construction permits and there can’t be any. In a residential zone, no one could give permission for the construction of a religious building. Secondly, there is also no perspective plan for the development of the village. And the most interesting thing: how will she explain her actions to the wives and mothers of military men who are now at the front? It is not deputies and employees to press”, – said the activist.

It should be noted that the history of confrontation between the UOC and the OCU in Myshev has been going on for 5 years. Earlier we reported that at the beginning of the conflict over St. Nicholas Church of the UOC, the believers of the UOC made a proposal to use the supporters of the OCU another church-belfry, which is located on the territory. As a result, with the assistance of local authorities, the St. Nicholas community of the UOC was illegally re-registered in the OCU, and the priest and believers were expelled. After that, for 5 years, the UOC believers were forced to pray in the adapted premises.
