Vicariate of Australia and New Zealand organized in the UOC-KP

On March 23, 2022, the former Phanar`s cleric in Australia, Nektarios (Alexandratos), admitted to the Kyiv Patriarchate, published on Facebook the data on the beginning of the activities of the UOC-KP vicariate in Australia and New Zealand.

The vicariate was formed on the basis of the Archdiocese with an office in Australia; Alexandratos published its registration data in January 2022.

As previously reported, by decree of the head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko dated March 22, 2022, Archimandrite Nektarios (Alexandratos) was admitted to the “Kyiv Patriarchate”. He transfered to Filaret along with parishes and clergy.

The Archdiocese of Australia and New Zealand includes several communities with temples and cultural centers in Australia, two communities with temples in New Zealand, one monastery in Vietnam and one in India. The parishes have Sunday schools, a mission for orphans and an educational school.

Also, the Phanar Archdiocese in Australia reported that this cleric had no connection with this Church.
