About a third of all Orthodox parishes operating in Africa have joined the Russian Orthodox Church, TASS reports. According to the representative of the synodal department of the Moscow Patriarchate for relations between the church, society and the media, Alexander Shchipkov, there are about three hundred parishes on the continent.
More than a hundred of them, who were under the auspices of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, literally “asked to enter, or rather to remain in the legal canonical church,” he explained.
