On January 16, 2022, the head of the Parliament of Montenegro, Aleksa Bečić, met with the head of the Church of Constantinople, Patriarch Bartholomew, writes vimaorthodoxias.gr.
The Montenegrin delegation, headed by the speaker, discussed with the patriarch the general church situation in Montenegro during and after the enthronement of Metropolitan Joanikije, the website reports.
The patriarch also told the politician that he “expects the visit of the new Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.”
They also discussed the current situation in Montenegro, especially the laws on religious freedoms and church property.
