There is evidence that the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, is closely connected with Russia, which could lead to its split. This is what the head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko is talking about more and more actively, Rupor writes.
In total, thirteen people from the entourage of Epiphany Dumenko, according to the publication, are in contact with Russia, the Russian Orthodox Church and Patriarch Kirill. They determine the strategy and tactics for the development of the OCU. Although Epiphanius called Filaret’s accusations of lack of independence and the intention to send him to retirement a lie, the facts testify to the opposite.
Further, the publication provides facts confirming this point of view:
“Andrey Matsola is a co-owner of the First Private Brewery associated with Russian business. Claims to the OCU for the role of “overseer”, which is played by Vadim Novinsky in the UOC-MP.
Metropolitan Simeon (Shostatsky) of Vinnytsia, the bishop of the UOC-MP, had never spoken out in favor of autocephaly before the creation of the OCU. <…>
Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko) published several books criticizing autocephaly <…>. In 2011, he was awarded the Order of St. Anna, II degree, an award from the Russian Imperial House.
Archbishop Evstratiy Zorya went to Moscow dozens of times behind the scenes. He cooperates with the Deputy of the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Nikolai Balashov,” the website writes.
