The Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine opened proceedings on the situation with the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Odessa, which was jointly used by the communities of the UOC-KP and the OCU until the spring of 2020. The applicant/accuser in the proceedings is the lawyer of the Kyiv Patriarchate Neonila Tkachenko. She announced this on her Facebook page on March 2, 2021.

“The SSU in the Odessa region has started the proceedings of mercenary activities of the OCU in Odessa. The scene of the ongoing crime is Pasteur, 5. Tomorrow I go to the first interrogation. At the same time, I am firmly convinced that the main rat who continues to serve the religious branch of Poroshenko is still in office. Probably even in the state security agencies. Therefore, I will inform publicly about every step and every action,” Tkachenko wrote.

The UOC-KP community lost access to the church on April 1, 2020. A month earlier, on March 3, a fight broke out in the premises of the church between Filaret’s supporters and representatives of the OCU. After that, the building was finally taken over by the OCU.
