The OCU said that they took away the last church in Irpin from the UOC

The OCU has reported that its supporters have managed to take away from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church the last church in Irpin, Kiev Region. We are talking about the church in honor of St. George the Victorious in the Romanovka microdistrict. About it reports Іrpin Daily.

“Historical day! The temple of St. George the Victorious in the Romanovka microdistrict passed to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This decision was made today by majority at the meeting of the religious community. There were 92 residents of the community in total. Only 12 of them voted against the transition. The priest in Romanovka will now be Father Nicholas Rozlutsky. The temple in Romanovka is one of the most damaged in the community. During the occupation of the Kiev region, it was past it passed the “Road of Life” and there was a lot of shelling”, – is noted in the message.

In addition, the Irpin City Council reports that St. George’s is the last functioning church of the UOC in the city. They noted that there are two more churches left, but they are currently closed and do not operate.

“Now in the Irpen community remains two more churches in the Moscow subordination. This is the church on the 6th line and the church located in the Central Cemetery of the city, where ruled in March-2022 Fr. Vladimir. They are still subordinate to the UOC-MP, but services are not performed there – the temples are closed”, – summarized the supporters of the OCU.

On October 25, 2023, in the city of Irpin, Kyiv region, at the initiative of the local city council, the Holy Trinity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was “transferred” to the OCU.
