The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, has spoken about the agency’s attitude towards clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and shared information about the number of criminal proceedings launched against clerics of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He said in an interview with the TV channel ICTV.

“If a person in a cassock stands and on the phone corrects the enemy’s fire on a peaceful neighborhood. What does this have in common with God? Can the cassock and censer in such a case be an indulgence? Of course not. We hold her accountable like anyone else”, – Maliuk said.

In addition, Malyuk said that as of today, representatives of the clergy of the UOC were announced 37 suspicions and opened more than 80 criminal proceedings. Also, according to the SBU head, 23 clergymen have received court sentences.
