Pravblog Sr channel published the main theses from the conference in defense of the UOC shrines and believers, which was held in Belgrade on September 21, 2023.

In particular, it is emphasized that now in Ukraine there is not just the destruction of a particular Church, but the total liquidation of true Orthodoxy there. And it happens according to the scheme: “crush the UOC, pour its remnants into the schismatic OCU and then unite this structure with the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.”

The conference stated that “the position of the Local Orthodox Churches is of particular importance. And if it is extremely problematic to achieve justice at the level of secular international structures, it is quite possible to get the necessary reaction from the Orthodox world”.

First of all, they stressed, it is necessary to ensure further non-recognition of the OCU as a canonical Church, as “the legalization of this structure significantly increases the chances for the formation of a new union in Ukraine”.

Also in this issue was considered the factor of “intensification of activities to hold in the Local Churches round tables, conferences, public events aimed at discussing the true and strategic reasons for the attack on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church”. According to the speakers, “in this context, special attention could be paid to the topic of increasing interaction between the Patriarchate of Constantinople and the RCC, which openly demonstrate their desire to restore prayer and Eucharistic unity” without changing the dogmas of their teachings.

“Third, it looks extremely important to resume the work of the so-called Amman format, where the Primates of the Local Churches will be able to form a common position on acute and topical issues on the pan-Orthodox agenda,” the conference said.

The meeting also proposed a format for systematic meetings of trusted representatives of the Primates of the Churches, who would have the right to speak on behalf of the latter and would have a number of other serious powers.
