Primates of three Churches that have recognized the OCU will meet in Greece

From October 12 to 15, celebrations will be held in Athens in honor of the 100th anniversary of the magazine “ΘΕΟΛΟΓΙΑ” and the 15th anniversary of the election of Jerome (Liapis) as Primate of the Church of Greece. The primate of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Patriarch Bartholomew, the Primate of the Church of Cyprus, Archbishop George III, as well as the President of Greece, Ekaterina Sakellaropoulou, are also invited to the events. It is reported by orthodoxianewsagency.gr.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding and continuous publication of the scientific journal “ΘΕΟΛΟΓΙΑ”, a scientific conference entitled “Orthodox theology on the way to the “immaterial reality” of late modernity” will be held. It provides for the participation of Orthodox theologians from Greece and around the world.

It is noted that the grand opening of the Conference will take place on Thursday, October 12, in the Cathedral of Athens in the presence of the Council of Bishops of the Church of Greece. The rest of the sessions will take place in the Athens Concert Hall.

On Sunday, October 15, a solemn Divine Liturgy will be held at the Cathedral in concelebration with the Council of Bishops of the Church of Greece.

Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East is also invited to participate in the events. However, his participation is unlikely.

It is also known that right before the start of the celebration, from October 9 to October 11, a meeting of the Bishops’ Council of the Church of Greece, headed by Archbishop Jerome II, will take place.
