The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, said that he supported the petition to restrict the UOC on the territory of Kyiv and, in his explanations, referred to “a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine.”
He called the petition to restrict the UOC “a pressing public request.”
Klitschko also offers:
prematurely terminate lease agreements and return all property leased by the UOC to the ownership of the territorial community of Kiev;
prematurely terminate all contracts for the provision of services to the UOC by public utilities in Kyiv (water and gas, electricity, garbage disposal, etc.);
to carry out measures to conduct an inventory of land plots that are in the use of the UOC, with the subsequent termination of the right to use them by making appropriate decisions;
apply to the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers and the President of Ukraine regarding the urgent revision and consideration of relevant legislative acts that will establish the grounds and procedure for terminating the right to use communal property, including land plots, by religious organizations of the UOC in the city of Kyiv.
