On behalf of the Synod of Bishops and the entire Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, “with deep empathy now offering their prayers” for the Orthodox in Ukraine, Lord Paul was congratulated by Metropolitan Nicholas, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Eastern America and New York.
Metropolitan Nicholas wished that the blessing of God would always remain over “the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, over its Blessed Priest-Archimandrite, Vicar, brothers and children of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church!
