On behalf of the Synod of Bishops and the entire Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, “with deep empathy now offering their prayers” for the Orthodox in Ukraine, Lord Paul was congratulated by Metropolitan Nicholas, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Eastern America and New York.

Metropolitan Nicholas wished that the blessing of God would always remain over “the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, over its Blessed Priest-Archimandrite, Vicar, brothers and children of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church!

On behalf of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Timothy of Vostre, Exarch of the Holy Sepulchre in Cyprus, sent a congratulatory message to the Vicar of Lavra.

“I would like to heartily and brotherly congratulate you on the day of your namesake and wish you strength of spirit, patience, health, mental and bodily strength, for many years, trusting in the mercy of the Lord, who chose you to be a shepherd and mentor of monks, who lays “…his soul for the sheep” (John 10:11)” (John 10:11), – wrote the hierarch.
