Metropolitan Alexander of the Nigerian Church of Alexandria has died. This is reported by Telegram channel Shepherd & flock.

It is noted that this bishop in 2016, at the Council of Crete, fervently supported the UOC and its Primate Blessed Metropolitan Onufry. At that time, he said that on the issue of the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church he supported the position of the Presidents of the 14 Orthodox Churches that Metropolitan Onufry is the only canonical head of Orthodoxy in Ukraine.

However, he later dramatically changed his point of view and recognized the OCU even before Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria did.

“And now he has died (at the age of 63). I wonder what he will say to God about his attitude toward the OCU and Dumenko?” – is noted in the publication.
