From July 13 to 15, 2023, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon was on a visit to Bulgaria. This is reported by the site Religija.mk with reference to the Bulgarian edition “Doxologiainfonews”.

It is noted that during the meeting between the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Bulgarian Patriarch Neofit, it was about the recognition of the “autocephaly” of the OCU.

“During the visit, issues of a church nature were discussed, including the fulfillment of the promise of the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte to add the name of the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine to his diptych,” the website says.

The issue of the Orthodox Church of North Macedonia was also raised, namely the decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Church to recognize the autocephaly of the Church in the Republic of North Macedonia.
