On June 8, 2023, an open hearing was held in the Vinnytsia City Court in the case of Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchin and Bratslav, whom the SSU accuses of committing serious anti-Ukrainian crimes. This is reported by the website of the Tulchin diocese.

The court heard the indictment of the prosecutor and three lawyers of the highest qualification, who questioned the legal admissibility of the evidence base of the charges.

One of the lawyers noted that the charges have a “situational political color”. Metropolitan Jonathan, in turn, said that he did not recognize the accusations “from beginning to end.”
