Tkachenko provided false information about the UOC

Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko, in an interview with NV, reported several fakes about the UOC. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

In particular, in response to the host’s remark that the monastery did not receive a document from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra reserve, due to which the contract for the gratuitous use of the Lower Lavra was terminated, Tkachenko replied that such a document had allegedly been sent, calling it a “letter”.

Representatives of the department themselves reported that the examination of the condition of the Lavra buildings had not been completed and would continue until May 15. So the information in the “letter” of the ministry does not have any expert confirmation, and the signer of this “letter” committed actions that can be qualified in the categories of the criminal code on arbitrariness and abuse of power.

Tkachenko also said that members of the commission of the Ministry of Culture recorded “indecent use of certain buildings that were transferred to the management of the metropolis, the monastery.” Perhaps these statements by Tkachenko are explained by the fact that the minister does not monitor the results of the work of his subordinates, who have repeatedly stated in interviews about the extremely professional content of a number of structures they examined.
