At an informal meeting of the UN Security Council on the “Arria formula”, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya spoke and stated that since the beginning of 2022, about 300 raider seizures of the UOC churches had been committed. Pravblog informs about it.

“The seizure of the temples of the UOC and the forced, illegal legal liquidation of their communities is disguised as an alleged voluntary transition to the church created by Mr. Poroshenko (“OCU”). Such “voluntary” transitions are accompanied by mass clashes, beatings of parishioners and clergy. After the formal re-registration of the community, its forcible seizure is carried out temples, often with the participation of armed people,” the diplomat said.

He called on UN members and international human rights organizations to influence Kyiv in order to prevent a catastrophe in the religious sphere, as well as to end the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its parishioners.
