The leadership of the Rivne Regional TB Dispensary asked the community of the UOC to vacate the premises where the church had been for eight years. The rector of the Church of the Miracle of the Archangel Michael spoke about this, according to the page of the Rivne diocese of the UOC.
The abbot was allowed to take everything from the church and was asked to sign a document on the surrender of the premises.
“I didn’t sign anything and I’m not going to do it, because I don’t understand why such measures were taken in relation to the church, in which prayers and Liturgy were performed for eight years. Until I repaired this building for the donators’ money, no one needed it. It was a mess and a hangout for drug addicts. No one believed that a temple would come out of it. We did not stop and just did, cleaned, washed, insulated. I perceived this small church as an earthly paradise,” Father Andrei noted.
The priest also said that the community regularly paid rent, utilities, was an obedient tenant, and did not violate order.
It is reported that the parish has left the premises. Caring people helped Father Andrei to take out icons, lecterns, everything acquired during the years of service.
