Two Zaporozhye officials blocked the ban on the UOC

Two deputies of the Zaporozhye Regional Council blocked the process of making a decision to ban the UOC in the region, Pervy Kazatsky reports with reference to Ukrainian News.

We are talking about the manager of the affairs of the executive office of the Zaporozhye Regional Council Volodymyr Podorozhko and the head of the legal support department of the regional council Yegor Moroz.

Both officials, by providing official written comments, actually blocked the possibility of a quick consideration and adoption of the draft decision “On Ensuring the Strengthening of National Security in the Sphere of Freedom of Conscience and Banning the Activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate on the Territory of the Zaporozhye Region,” filed by deputy Serhiy Lyshenko.

In the documents submitted by two deputies, it is noted that the Zaporozhye Regional Council cannot consider and vote for the relevant draft decision, since, in their opinion, the document does not comply with the current legislation.

Recall that a petition was created on the website of the Zaporozhye City Council demanding to terminate all agreements between the city government and its subordinate structures with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
