In an interview with Novosti Priazovye, acting General Director of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Reserve Maxim Ostapenko shared that the funding of the Reserve during the war is already extremely limited and another problem arises – when the Lower Lavra is completely transferred, the territory of the reserve and the number of objects will double.
Maxim Ostapenko said that now the Ministry of Culture is looking for additional sources of funding for the Reserve: “Financing of huge complexes and facilities is a very important issue, and in a war it needs to be studied. It is possible here for some projects, for interesting locations, to attract sponsorship funds, attract additional projects, grants so that those objects that can be supported not only for budgetary funds begin to develop in the Lavra.”
