Four bishops of the UOC deprived of citizenship of Ukraine

People’s deputy from the Holos party Yaroslav Yurchyshyn sent a deputy appeal to the SSU regarding the provision of information on the application of sanctions against certain clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He announced this on his own Telegram channel.

The response of the Security Service indicated that, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On the Termination of Citizenship of Ukraine” dated December 28, 2022, Metropolitan Meletiy (Yegorenko) of Chernivtsi and Bukovina, Metropolitan Ionafan (Yeletskikh) of Tulchin and Bratslav, Metropolitan Iriney of Dnipropetrovsk and Pavlogradsk ( Seredny) and Bishop Sergius of Ladyzhin (Anitsoy) were deprived of citizenship of Ukraine.

It is also reported that the Archbishop of Bucha Panteleimon (Bashchuk) “was canceled the registration of the acquisition of citizenship of Ukraine.”
