Bishop of the Serbian Church: The monks of the Lavra are persecuted by people who are not afraid of God and are not ashamed of people

Bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church of Zvornitsko-Tuzla Photius in his sermon spoke about the persecution of monastics in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Pershyi Kozatskyi”.

“These days we are following the great sufferings of our people, our monasticism in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in Ukraine. Martyrdom, suffering … Monks are persecuted, there are more than three hundred of them, who have not stepped on an ant and have no earthly guilt,” said the hierarch .

He noted that “people pray there all day and all night to God for the salvation of the whole world. Now they are being pursued by earthly forces, earthly powerful people who are not afraid of God and are not ashamed of people. And so they attacked the Sanctuary – there is no Sanctuary for them, they fear neither God nor the Sanctuary – nothing.”

“We all see this, although we also had such scenes. There were also persecutions against our Church. God forbid it happens again. But if these same judges who judge there, in Ukraine, start persecuting us, our relics and miraculous icons throw away, everything will be the same as in Ukraine,” Bishop Photius stressed.
