The mayor of Lviv told how he is going to resolve the issue of the property of the UOC

The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, stated on his Facebook page that the UOC in Lviv “has two options: officially become a Ukrainian church, or go through the process of nationalization.”

He also wrote how he sees the solution to the issue of “the property of the Moscow Patriarchate in Lvov.”

About the New Athos Monastery, Sadovoy noted that “the premises on Pekarskaya will be taken over by the city. Here we will develop a rehabilitation system. The initiative is important, “pleasing to God”, therefore, I think no one will be against it.”

Regarding St. Vladimir’s Church, which the mayor calls “self-construction on Sykhov,” then “it will be dismantled in the near future. We made the first decision to transfer the land plot to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. It will belong to the community.”

As for the temple on Bobanich Street, that is, the St. George Church of the UOC, here, according to Sadovyi, “the situation is more complicated.”

“The property belongs to the religious community, which verbally renounces the MP. Therefore, there are two options here: officially become the Ukrainian Church, or go through the process of nationalization. All the necessary documents for this have already been prepared,” said the mayor of Lviv.
