On the night of March 3, 2023, Russian troops shelled Ochakov in the Nikolaev region, as a result of which the temple in the name of the Monk Agapit of the Caves, located on the territory of the Borisfen health resort, was damaged. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC with reference to the Facebook page of the UOC believer Daniil Dmitriev.

Daniil posted a photo and video of the consequences of the shelling, commenting that such actions are unacceptable for God’s creation: “God created everything good and for good, and actions that destroy buildings, take lives, encroach on state independence cannot be good.”
