The forced transfer of the UOC to the new calendar will meet resistance and only provoke discord, Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, adviser to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, told RIA Novosti.

“Any attempt to forcibly transfer the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Julian to the Gregorian or New Julian calendars will face resistance from believers,” he said.
