On December 20, a meeting was held between the chairman of the SEFC, Viktor Yelensky, and the head of the UGCC, Svyatoslav Shevchuk. This is reported by the website of the State Service.
“During the meeting, we discussed a number of problems of state-church partnership. In particular, they talked about ways to improve the professional training of military chaplains, their certification, the invention of an optimal balance in the service of a chaplain as a military man and a priest, as well as issues that need to be resolved to introduce medical chaplaincy,” the report said.
ㅤThe meeting also discussed the legislative initiatives of people’s deputies in the social, cultural spheres and in the field of freedom of conscience, as well as the state’s support for socially significant initiatives of the Church,” the SEFC noted.
