The UOC spoke about the assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2022

In 2022, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, sharing the sorrows of its people from the first day of the war, named comprehensive assistance to all people, regardless of their religion, as one of its priorities. Much of this assistance was provided to the military. This is stated in the Results of the Holy Synod, which took place on December 20, according to the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

“More than 180 tons of humanitarian aid were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the fighters of the Territorial Defense. In addition, the wounded servicemen were provided with medical assistance in the amount of almost 4 million hryvnias. Bishops, clergy, students of theological schools and laity regularly donate blood for the wounded and injured,” the message says.

In addition, it is noted that 80 cars were purchased and handed over to our defenders.

“The total amount of assistance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is almost 30 million hryvnias. Of course, this is far from all the help that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church provides daily to our defenders and injured civilians,” informs the Holy Synod of the UOC.
