Elena Bohdan, head of the State Ethnopolitics, noted in an interview with fakty.com.ua that in the churches of the UOC they pray for the victory of Ukraine.

“When a full-scale invasion began, a number of UOC believers volunteered for the front. A number of UOC priests blessed the believers to go to the front. In the churches of the UOC, they pray for the victory of Ukraine. And it is also important to remember this,” Bogdan stressed.

The head of the GESS added that, despite this, the state must respond to all cases of collaboration, regardless of whether it is a secular person or a spiritual one.

“From the point of view of Russian propaganda, it is important and beneficial for them to show that we have “liberated” the clergy of the UOC. Therefore, no other clergy is under such frenzied pressure when interaction with the occupying authorities begins. The Russian Federation is trying to justify its invasion with narratives of oppression by the ROC, represented by the UOC in Ukraine,” concluded Bohdan.
