Chairman of the Synodal Department for Relations between the Church, Society and the Media V.R.  Legoyda spoke about the decision that was made on October 13, 2022 at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on the status of the Rovenkov diocese (magazine No. 95).

“Following the results of the discussion, the members of the Holy Synod decided, in response to the appeal of the Archbishop of Rovenkovsky and Sverdlovsk Arkady, based on the need to maintain an effective canonical and administrative connection with the central church authorities for the successful flow of church life in the Rovenkovsky diocese and considering the practical impossibility of regular communication of this diocese with the Kyiv Metropolis, to accept the Rovenkov diocese into direct canonical and administrative subordination to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church,” concluded V.R.  Legoyd.
